This day marks the day of Lord Shiva’s and Parvati’s wedding. After agreeing to marry Parvati, Lord Shiva arrived at Himavan’s palace (the king of the mountains) with a procession that consisted of ghosts, ghouls, dancing skeletons and other ghastly beings.
