Andal wakes up the Gopika by saying that she is dear to Lord Krishna as she performed Saranagathi towards Him. Just as the cow takes special care of its newborn calf, it doesn’t mean that the other calves are of less importance. In the same way, our Guru takes special care of the new disciple who seeks refuge. They instill the knowledge to us that were passed down to them for many generations.
