The Gopika seems to be passing her precious time by indulging in gossip. This leads to desire and if it is not fulfilled, it results in anger and disappointment. Gitacharyan (Lord Krishna) mentions that lust and greed are like handcuffs and therefore these two vices make it nearly impossible to attain Him. Andal explains that the is wasting a golden opportunity to attain Lord Krishna, but the Gopika pretends to ignore Andal. We are getting attached because of desire and lust and losing control of our senses. When we get distracted from our path, even a small sign from a Guru will bring us back on track. This reminded the Gopika of the time when a simple hum from a bird gave immense happiness to Sita which seemed similar to a point in time when a teacher attempts to bring their student back onto the path of knowledge. The Guru’s attempt resembles the bird’s happy and melodious chatter.
