About the Artist
Vishakha Hari is a distinguished Carnatic vocalist and a leading exponent of Harikatha, the traditional South Indian art form that combines storytelling with music and philosophy. Trained in Carnatic music by the legendary violinist Lalgudi Jayaraman and guided in spiritual storytelling by her father-in-law, Sri Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna), she has captivated audiences worldwide with her eloquent narratives drawn from epics like the Ramayana, Bhagavata Purana, and Skanda Purana.
In 2020, Vishakha Hari founded the Vijayashri School of Harikatha, a free e-paatashaala dedicated to teaching this ancient art to students globally. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes music, storytelling, Sanskrit, and scriptural studies, aiming to instill values of bhakti (devotion) and gnanam (knowledge) in learners of all ages. With programs like Balabodham for children and Siksha for advanced students, the institution serves as a nurturing ground for the next generation of Harikatha artists.
